The Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) has officially announced the schedule for the Amarnath Yatra 2025—one of the most revered Hindu pilgrimages. This year, the yatra will begin on July 3 and conclude on August 9, spanning 38 days.

About the Holy Amarnath Shrine

Located at an altitude of 12,756 feet and around 141 km from Srinagar, the Amarnath Cave draws lakhs of devotees each year. Pilgrims undertake this sacred journey during the Shravani Mela in July–August (the Hindu month of Shravan) to offer prayers to Baba Barfani—the naturally formed ice Shivling inside the cave. The yatra traditionally begins with the ‘Pratham Pujan’ ritual.

Registration Information

• Registration Start Date: April 14, 2025

• Mode: Through designated bank branches using real-time biometric eKYC authentication

• Important: Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis, so early registration is advised.

Documents Required at Registration

• A valid Compulsory Health Certificate (CHC) issued by an authorized doctor

• Aadhaar card or a government-approved ID

• All documents must be issued on or after April 14, 2025

Registration Fee

• The registration fee for Yatra 2025 is Rs. 150 per person.

RFID Card Collection

Every registered pilgrim must collect a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) card from designated centers in Jammu or Kashmir before starting the yatra.

Route Options

Pilgrims can choose between two scenic yet spiritually significant routes:

1. Nunwan–Pahalgam Route (48 km)

   • Located in Anantnag district

   • Traditional and scenic but longer

2. Baltal Route (14 km)

   • Located in Ganderbal district

   • Shorter but steeper and more physically demanding
